Hostmaster Ltd reminds the users of the domain KIEV.UA, who passed the registration data actualization in March-May of 2007 that in order to prolong the registration of domain names it is necessary to use the services of the companies-registrars.

The new system of registration has been determined by the Policy of KIEV.UA that came into force on March, 15, 2007. Policy of KIEV.UA promoted the development of this geographical domain, increased its prestigiousness and allowed to provide the world standard services for capital region domains by considerably complicating the squatting of domains, and by making the Kiev domains unattractive for spammers.

Furthermore, the new Policy set the guaranteed term of the domain delegation for third level private domains which passed the actualization. This allowed to reduce considerably the number of "dead", i.e. registered, but unused domains in the Ukrainian Internet.

In connection with the Policy introduction, the actualization of information about the users of domain names in domain KIEV.UA was held from March, 15, 2007 till June, 01, 2007. All the users of domain names, who passed this procedure, acquired the right of free registration for the period of one year; 22 489 of users who performed data actualization before March, 31, 2007, appeared within the limits of the bonus program prolonging time of free registration for two additional months and the domains of 14 637 of users - for one calendar month.

In total in the domain KIEV.UA the registration data actualization of more than 51 000 domain names was performed and the delegation of more than 17 000 of unused domain names was cancelled.
